Is there a way to rejuvenate PLA filament that is brittle / breaking?
-
I'm a high school librarian. We have an Ultimaker 3 in the library workroom for student use. Some of our Matterhackers PLA filament is unusable because it has become very brittle and breaks whenever we try to print. I know filament can become brittle when in a humid environment, but we are in southern California (112 degrees yesterday!) and the library doesn't seem humid at all.
Is there a way to rejuvenate the PLA so it will be useful again?
What is the optimal room humidity level for PLA, and is there a way to measure the humidity in the room where the printer is? I would hate to have to throw out so much filament. Thanks for any help you can give me!

@kbenning You can try drying it in an oven at 40-45 °C for 6-8 hours
