Printing with Quantum PLA Filament

I purchased a spool of Quantum PLA Filament and it's very interesting but I'm trying to figure out how to improve the results. The Web Page says something about printing an orientation disk, but I can't find anything that explains the process. Has anybody got a hint as to what it's talking about?

What are you trying to improve?
The orientation disk really just shows you where the color change will happen. Is that what you're trying to figure out or are there other issues?
