?? software bug "Retract When Changing Islands"
NMJoe last edited by
For various reasons, I often like to turn Off the "Retract When Changing Islands" toggle (found under Slice Settings / Filament / Retraction). According to the info popup, having this toggle On will "Force a retraction when moving between islands (distinct parts on the layer)." Toggling this Off I have found that it also inhibits a retraction when changing layers. That is the function I like whether it was intended or not. The problem I am having is on taller prints. Around layer 73 the slicer begins adding the retraction between each layer again, making that annoying vertical line up the side of my prints even worse.
Is this a bug or is there a reason it does this?

We have filed a bug for this issue.
Thank you for reporting it.
There should be no retracts at the top of this part.

Again thanks for the report. The fix will be in the next build.
