Adding a glass bed to a Pulse XE

To avoid having to clean up the "glue mess" on the fiberboard it came with, I have tried to install a glass bed over the top on my Pulse XE.
Every time I go to calibrate it, the bed leveler manages to make it through about 16 points before an error message appears.
Has anyone successfully added a glass bed to this model? Any troubleshooting tips you could offer to overcome this issue?
