I believe I may know what happened. Once I realised that MC was able to handle quite a large scene of models better than any other editor I have tried, I have been probably pushing the limits. I had done an update with one of these scenes opened up. After update, it tried to reload that particular scene, and I believe locked up. I Force closed it, and I think it caused some data corruption. It's the best cause I can come up with. When I did an uninstall, it did not remove that particular local director, so when I reinstalled regardless of which version of MC, it continued to read from that local directory causing the same error to pop up. Once I realized that directory existed and removed it, all was working perfectly again.

RE: Error when opening MatterControl.
I got it figured out. Had to just manually remove the Local/AppData/MatterControl folder. And it is working again.
Something went screwy. I will keep an eye out for any possible causes.

Creating a Model from Technical Drawings
Hopefully this may help someone looking to create models in MC from technical drawings.
--
If you are wanting create an item from technical drawings you can start with an object such as a cube.In this case I knew the length of the object to create was 288mm. Depth of 1.6mm. Height of 44mm. So that became my cube's dimensions.
I then imported a png of the particular technical drawing I was working with.
I set the cube to be transparent. (By setting the cube as a support.)
I then scaled the drawing to match that of my cube.
Then added the objects of the correct sizes and shapes to duplicate

Creating Springs
I was in need of a few springs for visual purposes. (Would be a great feature to add to pro @LarsBrubaker )
And quickly noticed a solution for creating objects that looked like springs that would do the trick.

RE: Some Basic Editing for Beginners
@larsbrubaker Thank you. I was trying to think of how to keep things clear and easy to understand and those description bubbles were perfect to use. Those are going to come in handy alot for me, for descriptions and notes.

RE: MatterControl 2.22.04 (April, 4, 2022)
@intj123 You are right about the bed sizes. I had to break out the measuring tape and measure the bed on my newest printer. It was off just a little bit. You make a good point, because most people wouldn't think of measuring the bed for exact numbers right off the bat and lose time trying and filament to figure out whats wrong in settings.

Some Basic Editing for Beginners
I did this for someone new to MatterControl, hoping to help make it easy to understand how to get started with the design side of MC.
Figured I would share it here as well just in case its helpful to any other beginners to MC.
Any suggestions and feedback welcome.

Parts of cylinder and tube being left behind when being subtracted from an object.
Finally remembered this time to take a screenshot and let ya know about this @LarsBrubaker
In this particular case I was able to verify it was parts of the cylinder because they are floating in empty space. So their was nothing from the model i'm working on to have been left behind there.
It only seems to happen with subtracting the circular objects such cylinder and tube. It leaves behind little bits of the cylinder or tube being removed. I have tried it in a varying degree of sides/quality.
Hopefully it is an easy fix. I have been just going back through when i find the little pieces and subtracting them out with a different object, or I do an ungroup to separate them from main model and delete.

RE: The Easiest way to Customize 3D printed Parts | Two Minutes With MatterControl
This was great to see. One particular model I have been working on had me wishing for similar feature and I didn't realise it was already there, I just wasn't taking the right approach. This is awesome. Thank you for creating and sharing this video Lars. And thanks for the post and sharing Tinken.

RE: MatterControl 2.22.04 (April, 4, 2022)
@intj123 Adding custom printer really isn't difficult and quick to do. I don't mind helping if you want to do it. The key it seems is making sure you enter accurate bed measurements correctly. And if your printer has auto leveling, depending on your bed setup, allow MC to utilize that, otherwise use the MC software leveling. Outside of that you are just looking at small changes to settings for that perfect print.

RE: The InMoov robot I printed using MatterControl
@intj123 It did take a few rolls to build. I believe it was about 7 rolls. But the kids really enjoyed it as it came along. Gave me ideas for a robot build I have been working on and makes for an interesting conversation starter lol. I personally think this is the kind of "STEM" project that should be had in high schools or even started in junior high.
