Why the changes

  • I have recently change my system to using a wade type extruder and an E3D lite hotend, in a bowden configuration and everything has changed. WHY?

Is it something to do with the reduction of weight on the Z axis.

the differences I am seeing are.

    1) the print is shifting.

    2) there are gaps in the extrusion, quite big gaps, have tried altering the extrusion multiplier, no change.

Anyone tell me where the problem is.

    Thanks.

    1. I assume you checked all of the things listed here. It doesn't make sense for it to be skipping steps if the weight has been reduced. Something else must be going on.
    2. In your settings, do you have the right nozzle size and filament diameter?

  • I think I found the cause, the bed was badly out of level and I think the nozzle was binding on the bed slowing it down, not sure until I give it a try tomorrow.

The fixing the gaps by adjusting the extrusion modifier, just how far can you go, so far I am at 1.5 and still have gaps.
