Teperature Display and Print Pause Issue

  • I am using the current version of MatterControl 1.7.2, and have a MendelMax 3 dual extruder printer.

I have it setup to print ABS in extruder #1 and PLA in #2 extruder.

    Question:

    1. When using the #2 extruder, the temperature is not shown with the bed temperature at the top of the window (shows extruder #1 temperature) is there a way to display both extruder temperatures and bed temperature other than stay on controls page?

    2. When I paused the a print to remove a piece that was in the way of the print head and then hit resume the filament retracted at least 50mm (enough that it came out of the extruder). I pushed the filament back in but the air gap messed up the print. What would cause the filament to back up that much?

    Thanks.

Nope, sorry. At this time only the first extruder temperature is shown.

Resume G-Code most likely, if it's MatterControl causing the issue. http://wiki.mattercontrol.com/SETTINGS/Printer/Custom_G-Code/Resume_G-Code

Either that, or your printer has firmware that retracts on resume. You could send the Terminal Log after a pause and we could investigate. http://wiki.mattercontrol.com/Send_Debugging_Information#Other_Useful_Files

  • Thanks for the reply, I will try a test print, pause and resume it to see if it repeats the issue.

It is not a big deal, it just surprised me when it backup up enough to disengage the extruder hob. Now that I know that it may do it I will be ready to make sure that it feeds properly.
