Perimeters

  • Hi is there advantage or dissadvantage in using more or less perimeters

  • I set sometimes the perimeter from 2 to 5 and the infill setting to 0, if I I want to print something with thicker walls. You can get pretty sturdy hollow objects. It works quite well. I would refrain from using a high perimeter value, if you have slices where some of the perimeters would overlap e.g. a sling kind of shape.

  • More perimeters is an easy way to make an object stronger, without increasing the infill. Thicker perimeters are also better if you are going to finish the object by sanding or vapor smoothing, since those processes eat away at the surface.

With only one perimeter, you are likely to have visible lines on the outside where the infill touches the perimeter.

  • Thanks Guys, for your very helpful responce.
