Sliced Design Missing Parts In Layer View

Using SeeMeCNC Rostock Max v2 with MatterControl 1.5.3, and every so often I will come across a 3D STL design file that does not slice correctly. It will be missing a vast majority of its insides, and or some walls, or even be bereft of a "ceiling" (top layer).
I check my settings and everything seems in place, but it prints just as horribly. I load it in Cura, and everything looks fine in Layer View, and it prints fine from that.
The only way I've got the prints to work right again is to uninstall MatterControl, remove its folders, and reinstall. Then everything prints fine again.
It's done this like 8 times in the past 2 months. what is going on? It stinks having to re-set all my settings the way I want. Is there any other way around this without losing my settings?

Sounds like you had spiral vase mode turned on.
